Journal of Bioresources and Environmental Sciences (JBES) seeks to promote and disseminate research on all aspects pertaining to the identification, utilization and conversion of bioresources into bioproducts and its impacts to the environments including the fate and behavior of emerging contaminants, bioresources utilization impact on the environment, human activity to environmental contaminants and their health effects, and environmental remediation and management.
Topics include:
Bioresources• Biomass production processes• Genetic improvements• Biomass composition• Analytical biochemistry• Bioconversion of agricultural production, forestry and plantations residue• Science and technology of dairy product• Bioprocessing industries and municipal sources• Isolation of active compound from biomass and microorganism• Biopolymer and biomaterial
Environmental Sciences
NoteArticles with the following topics are recommended to be submitted in our sister journal, International Journal of Renewable Energy Development (IJRED)• Thermochemical conversion of biomass (combustion, pyrolysis, gasification, catalysis)• Bioenergy and Biofuels (liquid and gaseous biofuels production, modeling and economics, the net energy efficiency of bioenergy systems, waste-to-energy)
The journal publishes original articles, reviews, commentary, methods, case reports, and opinions that are of high quality, high interest, and far-reaching consequence.
The JBES journal is an international journal published by Center of Biomass and Renewable Energy (C-BIORE), Diponegoro University. The research article submitted to this online journal will be peer-reviewed.
The practice of peer review is to ensure that only good science is published. It is an objective process at the heart of good scholarly publishing and is carried out by all reputable scientific journals. Our referees play a vital role in maintaining the high standards JBES and all manuscripts are peer reviewed following the procedure outlined below.
Initial manuscript evaluation
The Editor first evaluates all manuscripts. Manuscripts rejected at this stage are insufficiently original, have serious scientific flaws, have poor grammar or English language, or are outside the aims and scope of the journal. Those that meet the minimum criteria are normally passed on to at least 2 experts for review.
Type of Peer Review
Journal of Bioresources and Environmental Sciences employs single blind reviewing, where the referees remain anonymous throughout the process. Referees are assigned to the paper according to their expertise and our database is constantly being updated.
Referee reports
Referees are asked to evaluate whether the manuscript: - Is original - Is methodologically sound - Follows appropriate ethical guidelines - Has results which are clearly presented and support the conclusions - Correctly references previous relevant work. Language correction is not part of the peer review process, but referees may, if so wish, suggest corrections to the manuscript.
Final report
A final decision to accept or reject the manuscript will be sent to the author along with any recommendations made by the referees, and may include verbatim comments by the referees.
Editor’s Decision is final
Referees advise the editor, who is responsible for the final decision to accept or reject the article.

Crossmark
Applying the CrossMark icon is a commitment by the Journal of Bioresources and Environmental Sciences to maintain the content published and alert readers to changes if and when they occur.
What is Crossmark?
CrossMark, a multi-publisher initiative from CrossRef, provides a standard way for readers to locate the authoritative version of a document. Journal of Bioresources and Environmental Sciences recognizes the importance of the integrity and completeness of the scholarly record to researchers and librarians and attaches the highest importance to maintaining trust in the authority of its electronic archive. Clicking on the CrossMark icon will inform the reader of the current status of a document and may also provide additional publication record information about the document.
The journal is fully supported by Center of Biomass and Renewable Enery (CBIORE) and therefore, the journal has no article processing cost either for submission or publication. The authors are welcome to submit their works without any charges.
The journal is committed to the permanent availability and preservation of scholarly research and to ensure accessibility by converting and upgrading digital file formats to comply with new technology standards.
